Self-Rescue® Infant Water Survival Training

Age Group: 6 Months to 18 Months
Duration: 6 Weeks

At this stage in their development, infants are introduced to the vital skill of self-rescue. The Self-Rescue® method teaches babies to roll onto their backs to float, rest, and breathe. This ability helps them stay afloat until help arrives, providing peace of mind for parents and laying the groundwork for water safety.

  • Program Highlights

Age-Appropriate Skills: Designed for infants between 6 and 18 months, this program focuses on basic water survival skills that serve as the foundation for future lessons.

Water Safety: Infants learn to self-rescue by instinctively rolling onto their back to float in a calm, safe environment.

Confidence for Parents and Kids: Parents gain reassurance, knowing their child has the life-saving ability to float and rest when needed.

Builds Foundational Skills: These lessons provide the first step in a child’s water safety education, ensuring they have the necessary survival skills from a young age.

  • How the Program Works

The lessons begin with gentle, supportive guidance from an experienced instructor. Each child progresses at their own pace, focusing on core skills such as:

Floating: Teaching infants to instinctively roll onto their back to float, promoting air intake and relaxation in the water.

Breathing: Encouraging natural, comfortable breathing while floating to ensure the child remains calm.

Resting: Allowing children to practice maintaining their back-float position, enhancing their confidence in the water.

  • What Parents Can Expect

Hands-On Guidance: You’ll be involved in your child’s lessons, learning how to support their progress and reinforce water safety at home.

Peace of Mind: You’ll gain peace of mind knowing your baby is learning the self-rescue skills that can make all the difference in an emergency situation.

  • Program Benefits

Early Water Safety Education: Provides critical water survival education at an early age, setting the foundation for future aquatic skills.

Safety in Any Situation: By learning to float, babies can stay above water even if they accidentally fall in, giving parents more confidence when around pools or open water.

Reinforces Lifelong Habits: These lessons teach babies an instinctive response that could save their lives if they ever find themselves in the water alone.
